I use as much reclaimed material as I can because I believe in taking care of our environment. By using material that otherwise would have found its way into a garbage bin, I help to keep junk out of landfills. Using reclaimed materials also saves energy and raw materials, since one less thing needs to be manufactured. Aside from the environmental benefits, I love that there is a history to reclaimed material. It makes the piece you purchase so much more unique…

My jewelry is crafted from a mixture of metals in many forms and with a variety of finishes. Found objects are sometimes incorporated as well. I am mostly self-taught, and I continue to explore new materials and techniques. My goal is to offer an eclectic menu of unique and interesting pieces you will enjoy wearing or giving.

I am an artist who makes jewelry and sculpture but I also have a passion for collecting. I’m fascinated by the quirkiness, intrinsic beauty, and often amazingly wonderful design that shines through each object— the time, wear and travel that lingers on the surfaces and in the nooks and crevices. I think of all the necks & wrists & fingers that the jewelry has adorned. All the shelves, boxes, basements, attics, shop windows, hopeful hands that have kept the pieces & cared for them…and then where they may wind up next!

I got into this jewelry making gig because I was trying to find some blue topaz dangle earrings with gold findings (of course, at the time I didn’t realize ear wire, etc. was called “findings”) to go with my necklace and ring I already had. I would say that I’d been looking for several years off and on with absolutely no luck. I could find all the silver and blue topaz, but never the gold and blue topaz.

Then one day I was in Tall Mouse to get a mirror and decided to check out the “Bead Lounge”. A seed (pun intended) started germinating and next thing I knew I had signed up for a class to learn how to make earrings. I enjoyed it so much, I took Beading Basics 101 with Kat. From there I was hooked!

Oh, but that was just the beginning! I eventually took a class with Vicki and she teaches bead weaving. I thought I was hooked before! Hah! I was fooled. I’m now obsessed!

I still enjoy the wire work, but I have the most enjoyment with the bead weaving.
