I’ve discovered a new obsession, Steampunk Jewelry. I was inspired to make some for myself but, like most things, I just didn’t know when to stop. Now I have more than I can possibly wear so I’ve added a new section. Check it out and I hope you’re as excited about it as I am. I’m working on more items and I’ll be posting them soon, so remember to check back regularly.
All of my jewelry is made by me from natural stones, vintage beads, crystals, reclaimed and repurposed items any other materials that inspire me. Each piece is unique, I never make two quite the same. (That would be an assembly line and what fun is that.) So if you see something you love don’t hesitate, you’ll never see it again.

The treasures collected by my parents and grandparents need new homes. Thanks for “adopting” these vintage and antique collectibles.

My jewelry is crafted from a mixture of metals in many forms and with a variety of finishes. Found objects are sometimes incorporated as well. I am mostly self-taught, and I continue to explore new materials and techniques. My goal is to offer an eclectic menu of unique and interesting pieces you will enjoy wearing or giving.

I am an artist who makes jewelry and sculpture but I also have a passion for collecting. I’m fascinated by the quirkiness, intrinsic beauty, and often amazingly wonderful design that shines through each object— the time, wear and travel that lingers on the surfaces and in the nooks and crevices. I think of all the necks & wrists & fingers that the jewelry has adorned. All the shelves, boxes, basements, attics, shop windows, hopeful hands that have kept the pieces & cared for them…and then where they may wind up next!

Words, color and light have always captivated me and inspired me to create objects, experiences, environments and moods. These are threads that reach back into my childhood, and I have expressed in different forms over the years. Today, jewelry design and creation (and the photography!)- the fun with colors, beads, connections, just ‘light me up’ with excitement, energy, and enthusiasm!

The term ‘bloomers’ derives it’s name from Amelia Bloomer who was inclined to wear clothing that fell into line with the period’s modest fashions but would also allow her to comfortably pursue her latest passion ~ bicycling! She was also a crusader for women and children through her own newspaper, The Lily ~ a fine role model for us all.
These frilly, bold and bright artist create lampwork glass disks and beads in bold colors are mixed with sterling silver and joined to allow lots of movement ~ bloomers. Each pair is ONE-OF-A-KIND!

I got into this jewelry making gig because I was trying to find some blue topaz dangle earrings with gold findings (of course, at the time I didn’t realize ear wire, etc. was called “findings”) to go with my necklace and ring I already had. I would say that I’d been looking for several years off and on with absolutely no luck. I could find all the silver and blue topaz, but never the gold and blue topaz.

Then one day I was in Tall Mouse to get a mirror and decided to check out the “Bead Lounge”. A seed (pun intended) started germinating and next thing I knew I had signed up for a class to learn how to make earrings. I enjoyed it so much, I took Beading Basics 101 with Kat. From there I was hooked!

Oh, but that was just the beginning! I eventually took a class with Vicki and she teaches bead weaving. I thought I was hooked before! Hah! I was fooled. I’m now obsessed!

I still enjoy the wire work, but I have the most enjoyment with the bead weaving.
